Riz Lakhani, L.Ac., M.Ac
Being able to serve people by delivering acupuncture to the community is an honor and a privilege to me. I am a lifelong resident of Maryland — I grew up in Columbia and now reside in West Friendship with my wife and three children. Although I have been licensed to practice acupuncture in the state of Maryland since 2013, my journey to becoming a practitioner of acupuncture began when I was a youngster that was looking for ways in which I could use my time on this planet to help people live fuller and better lives.
In addition to obtaining my Master of Acupuncture graduate degree from the Maryland University of Integrative Health, I have also studied sports medicine acupuncture and Chinese Herbal medicine extensively and incorporate these techniques into my treatments as appropriate. Prior to becoming an acupuncturist, I graduated from the University of Maryland and then spent seven years in the private sector working at two of the nation’s largest wireless telecommunications companies. Despite having a career which allowed me to explore the latest technology and play a role in creating future trends, I yearned to be able to make a more meaningful difference in people’s lives. In 2009, I decided to make a career change and become an acupuncturist to fulfill my childhood dream of being a force for positive change. I consider myself fortunate to be a humble acupuncturist, and I look forward to serving the community using all the tools I have gathered over the years!
